a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell
Sue Merchant has a voice that can grab hold of you and make you feel.
Her debut is sounding like a surefire classic already.
Opener “Fool” dominated by her deep vocals and guitars lament lost love beautifully.
The next two songs appear to be about Virgina Woolf and really does the subject justice, all literate lyrics and soft playing.
“To the Lighthouse” mentions Woolf’s friend and lover Vita Sackville-West.
“Virtually Unreal” showcases her expert guitar playing and discusses the supposed joys of cyber dating.
“Vignette from the Edge” is a touching song with a lovely tune.
Sue Merchant’s a true artist and this debut is well worth getting.
