a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell
Saskia Dommisse and Marcel Shiborr meet at a workshop hosted by Dead Can Dance's Brendan Perry. They have recorded an album that reflects that influence. Their highly poetic music weaves a spell throughout.
Love has a superlative melancholic lead by Schiborr and is supported by strings.
Ecstatic Dance conjures up visions of satyrs and nymphs frolicking with a primitive yet stately beat. The male and female vocals complement each other.
Elsewhere they sing of disillusioned nihilists and pen odes to melancholy without losing footing. Poets to their Beloved live up to their name.
