 "Down that Road"
by Green and Root

a Review by Amy Producer of Collected Sounds

Green and Root is a duo from California, Green Huse writes all the music while Root adds some beautiful harmonies. They sound just beautiful together. It doesn't hurt that these songs are very well written folk-pop songs.

I hesitate to use the old Indigo Girls comparison because they don't always sound like them, but they do at times. That said, they do have a pretty original sound. Green has one of those really comfortable voices. The kind I can listen to all day. Root's voice is a perfect compliment.

Green is also an artist and her paintings can be seen on the CD jewel case as well as all over the group's website. Quite talented.

"Home" has a great melody and style to it.

"Marrying You" is a lovely, emotional love song.

"Lift My Head" is also a stand out, it's very sad though, beware.

This is a really nice, albeit mellow, recording. Good Sunday morning, doing the crossword stuff.
