a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell
Trystette is also known as Carrie Beehan and she brings a soul sound to the table with this album. She has an odd, but great voice kinda like Macy Gray, nasal but expressive.
Opener “Good Part of My Soul” is genuinely sweet and expressive, Trystette singing at her best.
The audacious version of “Sexual Healing” really shows her talent. With the aid of producer T.M Stevens Trystette oozes raw sensuality without being vulgar. It’s got a nice ragga vibe to it.
“Scapegoat” features scattergun effects alongside a music box melody and a genuine sense of adventure.
“Gunshot Angel” is sweet and delicate.
Trystette succeeds in updating a classic soul sound for modern audiences.
