a Review by Amy - Producer of Collected Sounds
This is a nice change from what I've been listening to. I'll admit I'm not a big jazz fan, but I like some of what I've heard. This is one of those. I also wouldn't go calling this an all out jazz recording either. It's still pop/adult contemporary but with a heavy hand on the jazz.
Amy Fabry has a nice clear voice that is a good fit for this type of music.
She plays piano and saxophone and rounds out her sound with drums, percussion, guitar and bass.
"No Boundary" starts out with a Santana-ish guitar line and is a nice tune.
"Moments Like This" really shows her vocal talent, as there isn't much else going on here except for piano until later in the song when the rest of the band kicks in.
"Down the Hatch" is pretty funky with a little "wahka wahka" going on.
This is a strong debut from a talented artist. I hope to hear more of her in the future.
