a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell
Rosie Brown and collaborator Bernd Rest create a sumptuous folk sound on this record. Brown's hushed vocal and the songs ethereal qualities are special indeed.
"Ocean" is a gently strummed, evocative love song. Brown sings ever so sweetly as the music weaves softly. The sophisticated "Burning orange" has a little bit of trip-hop to go with its jazzy swoop. Brown's vocal is intimate and strikingly sensual in a Beth Orton sort of a way. "Sunray" is a charming little song of longing for your love.
"Lucidity" is a delightful song with a witty lyric. Its expansive jazziness is just lovely.
"Clocks and Clouds" is a record that stands out by virtue of its sophistication and marvelous songs. Rosie Brown deserves to be better known than she is. She could be the find of the year.
