 The Chemistry Between Us
by Fontaine

a Review by Amy Producer of Collected Sounds

I'd be hard pressed to put this in a genre. It is listed as Americana but I'd say it's more edgy than that. It's even got a sort of ethereal tint to it.

Fontaine's voice reminds me of the slow easiness of Merry Amsterburg. It's a little smoky and a little dirgy. Really nice.

As the album becomes familiar the more I listen the more I like it as well. That's not to say it's not good upon first listen, but it really grows.

"Long Way Home" is a good choice for an opener. It's very catchy.

The songwriting is very good. These tunes are slow and rhythmic while still holding the listener's curiosity about where the melody will go.

"Trouble" is one of the more alt.country tracks. It actually reminds me a little of Chris Isaak.

This is a good record for Sunday morning chill time.
