I don't think I've ever heard anything quite like this. It's hard to classify. Is it Jazz? Trip-hop? Lounge? Does it matter? It's cool.
Singer Emily Shirley has a fantastic voice that can do flip flops and somersaults all over and still sound right on. The music is professional and well done as is the production.
As stated earlier, the music is as all over as Shirley's vocals. When listening to "All Eye C" I feel like I'm at a cocktail party in the late 60s. But "Spiritual Expedition" makes me feel like I'm hangin' out with Shaft.
But I think my favorite track is "Unsuccessful Sperm".
This is a really cool record. Fans of trip hop; jazz and electronica (and most definitely if all of those sounds mixed together good to you) need to check out "Bloom".
