a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell
Kitty Hoff makes sophisticated pop in her native tongue and the results are stunning.
The gentle bossa of the opening track sounds odd but soon the jarring effect fades. Hoff is a careful, understated singer like Laetitia Sadier in Stereolab.
"Grosse freiheit" is almost ska, Hoff's chilled voice bouncing off the beats nicely.
"Psychenswing " is soft and has a light jazz flavor; Hoff's cutesy singing perfectly suiting the song.
The rare foray into French on "Fleur Nerveuse" works fine too.
Kitty Hoff's record should intrigue pop fans all over, whatever language it's in.
