a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell
From the isle of Sardinia we have the unusual trio Chirleison. Vocalist Alessia Cicala sings in a heavenly voice and her partners Mara Lasi and Daniele Serra adds backing.
Their gentle folk meets gothic music is always compelling on this debut.
The title track is a somber reverie that lets Cicala's voice dominate while Serra's guitar adds texture.
"Canzone per Anceo" is a delicate hymn-like song with beautiful singing.
"I Doni" is another solemn and gorgeous song.
"Réveil" with singing in French is a classic-sounding sublime moment.
Chirleison's debut is a wondrous thing.
