Apron Strings by Breech "Apron Strings"

by Breech

a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell

"I can sing this better than you" notes Breech's Missy Gibson and she's right. I doubt there are many singers that can equal her passion and eloquence.

Breech are a rock band, but their use of instruments are hardly conventional. How many other bands use the accordion for instance? Yet they rock as hard as they need to when it's called for.

"Easy Bake" rocks and is catchy as well. Gibson's raw delivery is a real treat to hear. Mike Flanagan's guitar-playing is great too.

"Sachet" is a slow, sensitive song that gains its edge from Gibson's vocals.

The aforementioned accordion is used well in the title track and gives it a sophisticated flavour.

"Kindergarten Circus" is a plaintive song with a memorable chorus.

"Thistle" was featured in an episode of "Dawson's Creek" and it should get Breech some new fans because it's a great song.

Breech are a brilliant band and this is a very fine CD that's a good addition to anyone's collection.
