I was almost expecting techno-pop judging by the CD cover, which is a cartoon rendition of the artist. But it's starts out more like mainstream pop with a little jazz influence. The techno stuff does play a part later in the recording.
Amanda Easton has a very nice strong solid voice that is a good match for this genre. It's gusty and emotional while still having the ability to be sweet.
"Celebrity" is an interesting song from the point of view of someone who just wants to be famous by any means necessary. Interesting contradiction in the lyrics:
"Shiver" takes me back to 1984.
"Girl on a Chain" is funky, spunky and fun.
She does a cover of the Beatles' "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". This has always been a beautiful song and you have to be very careful when covering a song that is so dear to so many people, but she pulls it off. She's given it a techno-ish backdrop which might not sound all that appealing at first but give it a listen. I like it.
