Almost Home by Courtney Fortune

Courtney Fortune’s ep is a charming jazzy record.

She starts by covering Oasis “Champagne Supernova” and turns it into a jazz standard. Her croon is as warm as Norah Jones.

Her own “Like Always” is a classy song too, its subtitle “3rd murderer love song” implies a darker heart than the sound reveals.  

“I’ll See You Soon” sounds like an instant classic and that’s her song too.

Tom Waits “Little Trip to Heaven” gets a cool reading too. A lovely ep by a great singer.
