a Review by Anna Maria Stjärnell
Canadian singer Danielle Hérbert has crafted an adventurous third album. She sings in French and her music takes in many different genres and seems to be at home in all of them.
A smidgen of chanson surfaces in "Dites-Moi" but its beats are modern electronica. It also has a cool spoken word bit.
"Zee" is a jazzy affair that sounds modern too. Hérbert has some truly stellar vocal moments here.
"Que des Regrets" is classic chanson that gradually evolves into progressive rock. Its complex rhythms and multi-tracked vocals are a delight.
The gentle folk "Trois Fois Passera" is just a lovely song. Hérbert's beautiful voice lifts the song and the string arrangement id heavenly.
"Message Elfique" is a flute-endowed song that echoes seventies prog like Jethro Tull skillfully.
This is an album to treasure.
